The Silvertone Espanada (primarily sold under model numbers H63, H64, or catalog numbers like 1384/1427) is one of the most iconic vintage hollowbody electric guitars from the 1950s and 1960s. Manufactured by the Harmony Company in Chicago 

Key Features & Specifications

Gibson-Made P13 Pickups: The standout feature of early Espanadas. Before Gibson introduced the famous P-90, they manufactured these single-coil P13 pickups. They deliver a warm, dark, throaty tone with high output—making them highly prized by blues, jazz, and rockabilly players.

"Harmometal" Trim: Early production models (mid-to-late 1950s) are famous for their unique aluminum metal body binding, referred to as "Harmometal". Later models switched to thick plastic bindings.

Body Construction: Single-cutaway deep archtop body made from laminated maple, featuring a sleek, all-black tuxedo-style finish.

Neck & Hardware: Glued-in neck with a dyed/ebonized fingerboard, pearloid block inlays, floating rosewood/ebony bridge, trapeze tailpiece, and classic white "cupcake" control knobs.

Sound & Legacy

Despite being original catalog department-store instruments, the Espanada line punches well above its weight class. The combination of its full hollowbody resonance and high-output P13 pickups produces a rich, punchy bite that breaks up smoothly when pushed through a tube amp.
